If you haven’t heard the news recently, Eternal Magic published by 101xp has delayed the Western version. Originally scheduled for July to start CBT, 101xp has stated that they will be pushing CBT back to September 4th citing “internal issues”.
“It is necessary to fine-tune existing systems, optimize servers and improve localization. Therefore, a decision was made to postpone the start of the Closed Beta for the English version of Eternal Magic until September 4, 2019.”
Though it’s not all bad news. It does seem players who bought early access packs before the announcement are going to receive compensation in “bonus-items” in OBT. Now I do praise 101xp in at least admitting that the game is not in a state for the public. Now and days, publishers push out whatever the state of the game is and disguise it as “CBT”. So kudos to 101xp.
However, something that does anger some players is the fact that even though there is a delay in the English version due to “internal issues”. It doesn’t seem to affect the Russian version. If you head over to the Russian version’s official website. They’re launching OBT in August. If you look at it from a timeline perspective, I can understand player’s frustrations.
Now I know what you’re all thinking. “Why does Russia get their version so much earlier than us?”. Well to answer that. One cannot hope to understand the intricacies of a game publisher. The level of red tape and back and forth from publisher to developer is a complex mystery. Though I do offer a small bit of information. 101XP is a Russian company. It makes sense for them to have Eternal Magic ready for the Russian audience as soon as possible since I’m assuming that is where a majority of their market is.
I guess all we can do is wait and hope that 101xp uses this time to polish the game.
