Gunslinger is one of the most mobile and flexible classes in Eternal Magic. This class is geared towards a very mobile playstyle, both in the PvE and PvP aspects. If you don’t like kiting, I do not recommend this class. I will be covering the PvP – Poison/Physical Mix Build.
Version 2 Update – With the recent builds from Knights & Mages with high burst and CC/Survivability, this guide has gone through an update adding in more survivability for Gunslingers
PvP Build – Poison/Nature Damage Mix
At the time of writing, the most effective build for PvP is a mix between “Poison” build and Physical. Why? Well this is due to most players not having a very high “Nature-Resist”, and most of the population does not have a full nature-resist set of gear. With that said, as a gunslinger you want your main damage abilities to be nature damage with low cooldown times, and instant cast. This build is geared towards High Burst Damage with survivability. Now I’m not going to go through every ability, but I will hit the main ones and explain my choices. Please note that this build is limited to Battlegrounds.
Quick Shell vs Swift Firing (1) – So the reason why I chose Quick Shell even though it is Physical Damage over Swift Firing is due to higher damage and mana gain. Even though it has a cast time, the damage and mana gain still far outplays the low damage and instant cast of Swift Firing. If you also get the passive “Cannons to Action” it negates the cast time making Quick Shell an instant cast. Mana is a key problem with Gunslingers in PvP, especially in mass PvP settings.
Bombing vs Rupture Scatter – The value of Bombing in this season of PvP is insane. I would even say this ability is mandatory for every Gunslinger queing the BGs. Since stuns have no diminishing returns, you can literally chain bomb a priest with another gunslinger. Though the cooldown is 45 seconds, it’s still worth it
Afterlight – Afterlight is literally the only survivability ability you need. Immune to ALL damage for 4 seconds. = Make other people waste their burst damage in those 4 seconds.
The Case Against Wrath of Forest – Now a lot of you might be asking why I didn’t get “Wrath of Forest” as my passive. This is simply due to the fact that the other passives reduce cooldown time and or make other complimenting abilities instant cast. The main objective of PvP for Gunslinger is high burst damage over high crits. Dishing out as many abilities as you can instead of relying on crits. Also, note that PvP 60 places a debuff called “God of War” which reduces crit and crit damage.
Strengthen the Mind (Passive) – You’re going to need this passive trust me, it allows you to have 2 “Afterlife”, which equals to 8 seconds of invulnerability.
Now gear plays a huge role in PvP, especially in the battlegrounds. For MOBA, gear is not as important due to a different item system within MOBA. The most important piece of gear that you need to get for PvP is a trinket called “Harbingers Banner”.
Harbinger’s Banner – This item is insanely good and worth the value. It reduces healing on enemies by 50% as well as allows the player to break CC. For this entire high burst damage PvP build to work, it heavily relies on around this item.
You can purchase this item at General Winchester or Map Coordinates are (882, 1231). To purchase this item, you do need “Sergeant” PvP Rank (Shift-K). To level up your PvP Rank, you just need to do your daily 3 PvP either Moba or Battlegrounds.
As a Gunslinger for PvP, the main stat that you want to focus on is the following order
- Nature Power
- Accuracy (At the time of writing, there’s not a lot of people stacking “Dodge” so might not be worth it.)
Why not Crit? – When you enter a Battleground you receive a debuff “God of War” which reduces crit damage and crit.
Later on please note – You will want to start building different sets of gear depending on the server majority such as Nature Resist/Fire Resist, etc. (For NA, the main damage will be from Nature and Fire damage/Spell Blades & Gunslingers)
Any PvP Encounter, you want to start off with “Bombing”, and then burst damage the target down while stunned.
You want to proceed next with using “Slow Shelling” (G) to prevent any survivors from running.
