Kingdom Heroes 2, now this is a really old MMO. Emphasis on “Old”. Now if you’re a fan of Dynasty Warriors or want to just get that oldschool nostalgic MMO feeling, then keep on reading! However, If you’re expecting modern graphics and features….you have been warned. Kingdom Heroes 2 is a MMO that was ahead of its time when it came out in 2010. In fact, I would even argue that it was the predecessor for today’s Conqueror’s Blade MMO. It may have even laid the groundwork in terms of inspiration for Conqueror’s Blade. Regardless, oldschool gamers can rejoice! Because Kingdom Heroes 2 is coming back under the publisher Subagames. Release date is still unknown, however we do know that Kingdom Heroes 2 will be available on the Steam platform.
So what made Kingdom Heroes 2 so popular back in the day? Simple. Castle Siege Warfare. Kingdom Heroes 2 allowed players a wide range of control and freedom in castle sieges. Allowing players to control units, operate siege weapons like catapults, rams, and etc. It also allowed players to conduct naval warfare. Now, these might sound like commonplace features in MMOs today (Example ArcheAge, Black Desert, and etc.). But do remember, Kingdom Heroes 2 came out in 2010, almost a decade ago. KH2 was one of the first MMOs to actually have city management and place a heavy emphasis on guild territory warfare to the point where the game basically revolved around guilds constantly contesting eachother for castles. Now I do hope over these years the technology is there for better optimization. Old veterans of KH2 can remember the days where FPS was a common issue.
